INVIERNO
- Marithelma Costa |
WINTER
The light Translucent, generous caressing the seed in its bed the inquietude of the still bulb, the patient araucaria in La Ricoleta. In this concert, the violin unseats the viola the sun will triumph slowly over exasperating cold. SUMMER Colors blur in the damp. Geraniums, jasmines float on the river’s haze. Two turtledoves land on the windowsill, gaze at the port. For them below the white clouds summer is a gift given by the heat. AUTUMN In a New York city office-- windowless, without air or light, the roots of a bulb reach out, Seeking water. Leaves sprout, expand, defy wind’s dictatorship, the cold’s harshness. Petals slowly form. South of the continent, it’s spring A girl in the port welcomes the sun. SPRING A ray of light Crosses the border A fugue between the shortest day and one looming, portentious A turtledove dances, flies A miracle rises irridescent, Gilding a New York city garden. |
